A 1990 Škoda Favorit currently for sale in the Czech Republic is challenging conventional wisdom about classic car values. The vehicle, listed for 580,000 Czech Koruna-roughly $25,000 USD-is drawing attention for it’s remarkably high asking price given the model’s typically modest value [[1]]. With just over 4,200 miles on the odometer and described as being in original condition, the car’s potential sale could signal a surprising shift in the collector car market.
A classic car is making headlines, but not for its age. A 1990 Škoda Favorit recently listed for sale is challenging the limits of collector car values.
The vehicle, currently listed on Sauto.cz, is being offered for 580,000 Czech Koruna – roughly $25,000 USD. That price tag significantly surpasses previous high sales for the model.

The listing describes the car as being in original condition, a “museum piece,” with a 1.3-liter engine producing 46kW and a remarkably low 6,875 kilometers (approximately 4,272 miles) on the odometer.

A vehicle history check reveals the Favorit was first registered in Hungary on October 16, 1990, before being imported to the Czech Republic on November 8, 2023. It underwent emissions testing at a vehicle inspection station in Šenov u Nového Jičína, but initially failed the technical inspection.
It passed on a second attempt December 14, 2023, and was officially registered in the Czech Republic on January 17, 2024, before being immediately placed in a “depot” status – effectively taken off the road.
The 136 L model, as identified by its vehicle designation, also has some deviations from standard technical requirements, lacking a handbrake warning light and rear window wiper with washer. The seller, JV CAR, is banking on the car’s rarity and condition to justify the price. It remains to be seen if a buyer will meet the asking price.
