A French startup focused on preserving personal histories has earned a spot in a prestigious Microsoft program. Skribi, based in Sophia Antipolis, was selected as one of only 15 companies to participate in the 2026 Microsoft GenAI Studio, an initiative designed to accelerate the progress of generative AI solutions in france. The company’s innovative approach uses artificial intelligence to convert spoken memories into tangible, printed memoirs for families, addressing a growing demand for accessible legacy preservation tools.
French startup Skribi, incubated by Provence Côte d’Azur in Sophia Antipolis, is among the 15 winners selected from over 180 applicants for the 2026 edition of the Microsoft GenAI Studio program. The announcement underscores Microsoft’s commitment to fostering generative AI innovation within the French economy.
Skribi is developing a digital memoir service that leverages artificial intelligence to transform oral histories into printed books, delivered directly to customers’ homes. The company aims to simplify the preservation and sharing of personal memories across generations – a growing need as families become more geographically dispersed and technology offers new ways to document life stories.
“With the launch of this third edition, we are accelerating the adoption of generative AI in the French economy, by supporting startups that are inventing the uses of tomorrow,” said Eneric Lopez, Director of AI & Social Impact at Microsoft France.
The four-month program, hosted at Station F in Paris, will focus on scaling Skribi’s solution and expanding its applications, particularly in the business-to-business (B2B) sector. Skribi is also collaborating with the CoBTeK laboratory at Université Côte d’Azur to tailor its tools to the specific needs of senior citizens, including those experiencing memory loss. This collaboration highlights the potential of AI to address age-related cognitive challenges.
