Luciano Spalletti has taken issue with comments made by Cristian Chivu regarding Pierre Kalulu following Inter Milan’s victory over Juventus. Inter emerged victorious after a tightly contested match against Juventus.
Inter defeated Juventus 3-2 at Giuseppe Meazza on Sunday, February 15th. The win avenged an earlier 4-2 defeat to Juventus earlier in the Serie A season.

The match wasn’t without controversy, as Juventus defender Pierre Kalulu was sent off after receiving a second yellow card for a challenge on Alessandro Bastoni, which caused the Inter player to fall.
The Juventus side protested the decision, confronting the referee. Inter Milan coach Cristian Chivu suggested Kalulu should have been aware of the situation, having already been on a yellow card.
Chivu’s comments drew a sharp response from Luciano Spalletti, the Juventus manager, who argued that Bastoni exaggerated the contact.
“What disappoints me is that a good guy like Kalulu, after receiving two excessive injustices, should be called naive by Chivu, telling him how he should behave; I didn’t expect that from him,” Spalletti told Sky Sport Italia.
“This is absolutely unacceptable and will give me the opportunity to talk about the behavior of Inter players, which I shouldn’t do. I know Cristian well; he must realize he made a mistake,” said the former AS Roma, Napoli, Inter Milan, and Italy national team coach.
