Healthcare Education Startup Ollivate Secures Partnership with American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology

Detroit, MI – October 28, 2024 – Ollivate, a company transforming healthcare education through evidence-based learning techniques, has announced a significant partnership with the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (AANA), providing its platform to the association’s 70,000 members.

Founded in 2024 by Dr. Joshua Olson and April Olson, Ollivate addresses the critical issue of knowledge retention among healthcare professionals, a factor directly linked to patient safety. The platform utilizes spaced repetition, retrieval practice, and gamification to create a more effective and engaging learning experience than traditional methods. “They weren’t learning less,” explained Dr. Olson, “They were just learning inefficiently.” The company’s origins stem from Dr. Olson’s observations of student burnout while teaching nurse-anesthesia, leading him to seek a more sustainable and impactful approach to medical education.

The AANA’s decision to partner with Ollivate, and share in revenue, followed a successful pitch at their national conference. “They saw the same opportunity we did,” said April Olson. “Their members were asking for a better way to learn, and they wanted to support a company founded by a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) doing exactly that.” The partnership builds on Ollivate’s early traction, which now includes nearly 6,000 users and a growing presence in continuing education for licensed professionals. The company also received support from the MSU Research Foundation and Henry Ford Health through the Conquer Detroit Accelerator.

Ollivate has already demonstrated promising results, with the company reporting over $100,000 in annual recurring revenue and a focus on improving knowledge retention through AI-powered personalized learning. The platform’s success highlights a growing demand for innovative educational tools within the healthcare industry. Ollivate is currently raising its next round of investment to expand into new healthcare specialties and professional associations, with more information available at ollivate.com.
