The Steam community has rendered its verdict on the best PC games of the year, and the results are in. Unlike manny industry award shows, the Steam Awards-voted on directly by players-delivered a surprising win for Hollow Knight: silksong as Game of the Year. The full list of winners, announced following voting that concluded Saturday evening, showcases a diverse range of titles and a clear appreciation for both established franchises and self-reliant progress.

The Steam Awards, an annual competition hosted by Steam and open to all users of the popular PC platform, have concluded. Voting in each category ran until 7:00 PM Saturday, and the results, released shortly after, are proving to be unexpected in several areas. Unlike other gaming award shows like The Game Awards, the French RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 didn’t dominate the winners’ circle.
Taking the top prize in the Game of the Year category was Hollow Knight: Silksong, a metroidvania title from Australian studio Team Cherry, which also secured another award. Hades II, Silent Hill f, Dispatch, and Clair Obscur also saw success. However, the Czech RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance II did not receive an award. The results reflect the diverse tastes of the Steam community and highlight the growing popularity of indie titles.
