Montréal Mayor Soraya Martinez Ferrada celebrated the Super Bowl weekend by sharing a video of herself dancing to Latin music on Sunday evening, according to a report from Le Journal de Montréal.

Martinez Ferrada, who assumed office in November 2025, is also the current leader of Ensemble Montréal. Prior to her mayoral role, she served as Canada’s Minister of Tourism and Minister responsible for the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec from July 2023 to February 2025. She was previously a Member of Parliament for Hochelaga from October 2019 to March 2025.

The mayor’s social media post comes after a busy period for the politician, who has held various positions in both federal and municipal politics. According to her Wikipedia profile, Martinez Ferrada was born in Santiago, Chile, in 1972 and holds a Master of Management degree from HEC Montréal.

A separate report highlights the weekend’s events, including references to the Super Bowl and a ceremony, as well as commentary on local issues like potholes and traffic, with a mention of the mayor’s reaction. The YouTube video also references the opening ceremonies of the Olympics.
