The atmosphere in Umeå was electric for the first final match since 2022, creating a true hockey celebration in Västerbotten. Tellström, who had struggled to find the back of the net throughout the playoffs, finally broke his goal drought in spectacular fashion.

Tellström opened the scoring at 11:53 of the first period, capitalizing on a short-handed opportunity. After stealing a bouncing puck and utilizing what he described as an “honest tunnel,” he found himself wide open to beat goaltender Olof Lindbom for a 1-0 lead. Bik Karlskoga responded at 15:28, with Gustaf Thorell equalizing on a powerplay to send the game into the first intermission tied at 1-1.

Björklöven emerged more aggressive in the second period, quickly reclaiming the lead at 22:11. Daniel Brodin fired a clinical one-timer from the slot during a powerplay to make it 2-1. The momentum stayed with the home side as Tellström struck again at 26:24, netting his second goal of the night to push the lead to 3-1. While Bik Karlskoga attempted a comeback through a Jonatan Lundgren goal at 30:43, Björklöven remained composed. The match was officially position out of reach at 59:46 when Gustav Possler scored into an empty net, finalizing the score at 4-2.

This success for Oscar Tellström transforms him into an immediate hero for the club. “It’s great to win; it was a close, tight match,” Tellström told reporters, adding that the incredible crowd support made it easy to get hyped.

For Bik Karlskoga, this marks their first-ever final series in Hockeyallsvenskan. Despite the loss, Gustaf Thorell acknowledged the quality of the opposition, noting that they are facing a “decent and skilled Löven.” However, some analysts remain cautious, with Bogren suggesting that certain approaches may not be sustainable over time. Meanwhile, other experts have predicted a victory for Björklöven, claiming it is finally their turn to win the final.

The series continues on April 17, with the next matchup scheduled for 19:00.
