Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, a dark fantasy action RPG from Questline, has surpassed 1 million copies sold worldwide. The milestone, reached in under eight months since its release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S last May, demonstrates strong player interest in the indie title despite lacking a major marketing push.
The game has garnered overwhelmingly positive reception, boasting an 88% positive rating on Steam based on nearly 25,000 user reviews. This success underscores the growing demand for immersive, story-driven role-playing experiences beyond AAA blockbusters.
Celebrate with Discounts on Steam
To commemorate the achievement, Questline has released a celebratory trailer and launched a series of discounts on Steam. Through February 1st, the base game is available for $35.19, a 20% reduction from its original price. The recently released expansion, Sanctuary of Sarras, launched in December, is also 20% off at $11.83, or can be bundled with the base game for $47.02.
For those unfamiliar, Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon is a first-person, open-world action RPG set in a grim and decaying rendition of the Arthurian Avalon. Players assume the role of a prisoner subjected to mysterious experiments, freed by an enigmatic figure and thrust into a journey of survival, exploration, and uncovering the truth behind the island’s decline.
The game features a skill-based progression system, eschewing traditional character classes, allowing players to customize their playstyle. Combat is dynamic and versatile, offering options ranging from melee weapons and magic to alchemy and stealth. A free demo is also available on Steam, Xbox Store, and PlayStation Store for players to try before purchasing.
