The incident unfolded at the Nanmiao Market when a 45-year-old man reportedly brandished a knife, causing panic among shoppers. The suspect allegedly attacked a police officer, inflicting two deep cuts to the head, before other officers intervened.

Police say they discharged their firearms, striking the suspect in the abdomen. Both the officer and the suspect were transported to a hospital for treatment. According to reports, the officer suffered a fractured skull and lost approximately 1,000cc of blood.

Early reports indicate that a bystander was also injured during the exchange of gunfire. The circumstances surrounding the accidental shooting are under investigation.
