Spielberg and His Love for Dinosaurs

As producer, Spielberg is involved with The Dinosaurs through his company, Amblin Entertainment, as well as Industrial Light & Magic, founded by George Lucas and owned by Lucasfilm Ltd, which collaborated on the animation and special effects for Avatar and Jurassic Park.

Spielberg’s involvement isn’t surprising, given his longstanding interest in dinosaurs and their depiction in his cinematic work. The documentary arrives as a new wave of dinosaur fascination sweeps through popular culture.

In 2025, Industrial Light & Magic was working on up to 16 films, including several major nominees for the 2026 Academy Awards, such as The Sinners, Frankenstein, and F1: The Movie.
