The game, played at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, highlighted the contrasting trajectories of two teams with postseason aspirations.

The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Miami Heat 124-112 Monday night, marking their 33rd win of the season against seven losses.

Miami Heat guard K.J. Jakucionis saw limited playing time in the game, entering the contest only when the outcome was largely decided.

Despite playing less than two minutes, Jakucionis managed to contribute with an assist, though he didn’t score any points.

The turning point of the game came after halftime, as the Thunder went on a scoring run to build a double-digit lead that eventually became substantial.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder to victory with 29 points.

For the Heat, Andrew Wiggins was the top scorer with 23 points.

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra has indicated he may consider sending Jakucionis to the NBA G League, the league’s developmental system.

Spoelstra explained the potential move is due to the increasing number of players returning from injuries for the Miami team.

“Oklahoma City Thunder”: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander 29, Jalen Williams 18, Chet Holmgren and Ajay Mitchell 16 each.

“Miami Heat”: Andrew Wiggins 23, Tyler Herro 19, Pelle Larsson 16, Davion Mitchell and Nikola Jovic 13 each.
