Colombian professional football saw a flurry of significant player movement in 2025, as clubs capitalized on talent both domestically and internationally. Several transfers exceeded the US$2 million mark, reflecting the growing financial dynamism within the league and the increasing appeal of Colombian players to foreign clubs[[1]]. Top 10 Transfers in Colombian Professional Football for 2025

Jordan Barrera’s move from Junior FC to Botafogo stands as the most expensive transfer of 2025, with a reported fee of around US$4.7 million ($4.3 million euros). The midfielder’s breakout performance in the Colombian league fueled the significant deal for the Barranquilla club.

Coming in second is Kevin Viveros, who transferred from Atlético Nacional to Athletico Paranaense for approximately US$4.6 million ($4.2 million euros). The forward’s strong form with the Antioquia-based team made his departure a substantial financial gain for Nacional this season.

Rounding out the top three is Uruguayan goalkeeper Santiago Mele, who left Junior FC to sign with Monterrey for around US$3.3 million ($3.0 million euros). This move represents one of the largest transfer fees received by a Colombian club for a goalkeeper in recent history.

Independiente Medellín Contributes to the Top Transfers

Further down the list, John Montaño was sold by Independiente Medellín to Lommel SK for close to US$3.1 million ($2.8 million euros).

Following Montaño is Brayan Medina, who moved from América de Cali to CD Tondela for US$2.7 million ($2.5 million euros), marking one of the highest domestic transfers of the year.

The list continues with Juan Fernando Quintero, transferring from América de Cali to River Plate for around US$2.3 million (€2.1 million). Élan Ricardo also made a significant move, departing La Equidad, now Internacional de Bogotá, for Beşiktaş with a transfer fee of US$2.1 million ($1.9 million euros).

Completing the top 10 are Yeison Guzmán, transferred for US$2.0 million ($1.8 million euros); Jeison Quiñones, sold for US$1.9 million ($1.7 million euros); and Brayan Gil, whose transfer was finalized at US$1.6 million ($1.5 million euros).
