POP… From ABBA to Katy Perry and Michael Jackson, pop music will be in the spotlight this Friday, February 13th, with the Pop Strings concert. The String Department of the Tours Conservatory invites you to the Pléiade in La Riche at 8:00 PM for a meeting between the energy of modern pop and the rich sound of their instruments. Pot-au-Feu… This year marks the 30th anniversary of Tours’ traditional giant Pot-au-Feu, a popular, friendly, and supportive event. Organized by the City of Tours and Les Restos du Coeur, this anniversary edition will feature a recipe by double-Michelin-starred chef Christophe Hay. While reservations are now closed (the deadline was Thursday evening), you can still visit Place des Halles to enjoy the association village, solidarity stands, and a retrospective exhibition celebrating 30 years of the giant Pot-au-Feu. Radio Béton… Another major anniversary is being celebrated by Radio Béton, the iconic local radio station in the Tours region, which is turning 40. To mark the occasion, its Aucard d’Hiver festival will be expanded to three weeks of events from February 6th to 21st, with two nights of concerts this Friday, February 13th, and Saturday, February 14th, from 7:30 PM to 3:00 AM. On Saturday at 8:00 PM at Point Haut, for example, the Concerto in C Major will be performed by the twelve classical musicians of the Orchestre du Parpaing Val de Loire. Portuguese Music… For its 4th edition, Soirée Sud Cher, organized by the municipalities of Azay-sur-Cher, Véretz, and Larçay, will be dedicated to the voice with the trio Vadios do Fado, a group that brings the Portuguese repertoire to life. To discover fado, an urban and popular Portuguese song, head to the Notre-Dame Church in Véretz at 8:30 PM this Friday, February 13th. Reservations are recommended. Cinema… The new film starring Timothée Chalamet, Marty Supreme, which will be officially released in theaters on Wednesday, February 18th, will have an advance screening at the CGR des 2 lions and Tours Centre cinemas this Friday at 7:30 PM and 8:00 PM, respectively. The film’s synopsis: Marty Mauser, a young man with boundless ambition, is willing to do anything to achieve his dream and prove to the world that nothing is impossible. Comedy… On February 14th, Louis Cattelat will take the stage at the Palais des Congrès in Tours. A comedian, screenwriter, director, and author, he will present his first show, ARECIBO, which he developed alongside his fiction work. Tickets are still available here.
Concert… This Friday, February 13th, Le Bateau Ivre will host a night of rock and blues with the progressive rock group Ange, which has been around for over 50 years. They will be followed by Aurelle Key, a French soul and blues singer known for her warm and sensual voice, creating an intimate and nostalgic atmosphere. Thrift Store… It’s back on Saturdays. The ephemeral and supportive thrift store of the SONARA association, a social and inclusive well-being organization in Tours, returns this Saturday, February 14th, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at 2 rue du Commerce. Clothing, shoes, accessories, and decorations will be sold at low prices. Proceeds will support the association’s activities.
