The story so far
San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey canceled an interview with KNBR without explanation, adding to the team’s recent controversies. The move follows a widely criticized Pride Night event, during which CEO Larry Baer urged fans to ‘move on’ without issuing an apology.
Coverage highlights the Giants’ handling of PR missteps, with *The New York Post* framing Posey’s no-show as a ‘latest misstep’ and *OutSports* focusing on Baer’s dismissive response to fan backlash. Local outlet *SFGATE* and *couriernews.com* have also reported on the incidents, emphasizing the team’s lack of transparency.
Next steps depend on whether Posey or the Giants address the interview cancellation. Baer’s refusal to apologize for Pride Night could signal ongoing friction between the team and its fanbase, particularly in LGBTQ+ advocacy circles.
