Cade Klubnik plays two series, leads Jets to 10 points

Thrust into action without having taken any prior practice repetitions with the first-string offense, the rookie joined an exclusive franchise tier by becoming just the third rookie quarterback in Jets history to start a preseason opener, standing alongside J.J. Jones from 1975 and Zach Wilson from 2021. Despite the sudden promotion and lack of preparatory reps with the starters, Klubnik manufactured an immediate spark across his two allotted series against Tampa Bay's backups.

The rookie completed five of seven pass attempts for 56 yards, orchestrating two consecutive scoring drives that yielded ten total points.
