Netflix has confirmed that production is underway on a brand-new feature film continuation, temporarily titled The Inbetweeners 3, featuring the return of original lead stars Simon Bird, James Buckley, Blake Harrison, and Joe Thomas as Will McKenzie, Jay Cartwright, Neil Sutherland, and Simon Cooper. The streaming platform marked the announcement with a teaser video showing the actors climbing back into Simon's battered, iconic yellow 1996 Fiat Cinquecento Hawaii edition, though the engine predictably requires a bit of coaxing before sputtering to life.

The project ends months of speculation that began circulating last October when Banijay UK CEO Patrick Holland hinted that executives were plotting fresh misadventures. Series creators Damon Beesley and Iain Morris have returned to write and direct the feature, promising to work hard to ensure the project meets expectations.
