Kyiv is pushing for renewed international commitment as its conflict with russia nears its third year. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced a series of crucial meetings throughout January-begining with security advisor talks in Kyiv on January 3rd and a leaders’ summit in France on January 6th-aimed at solidifying continued military and economic aid packages from key allies. These diplomatic efforts follow recent, and reportedly productive, discussions between Zelenskyy and former U.S. President Donald Trump in Florida concerning potential pathways toward a resolution.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced plans for a series of high-level meetings in January aimed at bolstering international support for Kyiv as the conflict with Russia continues. The discussions come amid renewed diplomatic efforts to find a path toward ending the war.

According to Zelenskyy, security advisors from allied nations will convene in Kyiv on January 3rd. “Shortly after that, there will be discussions at the leaders’ level – these meetings are necessary,” he said. “We are planning it for January 6th in France.”

Prior to the leaders’ summit in France, national security advisors will thoroughly review all relevant documents and proposals, Zelenskyy explained to journalists. “They will examine all the documents, all the approaches,” he stated.

A follow-up meeting of the advisors is scheduled for January 7th to “clarify things,” Zelenskyy added. The series of meetings underscores the urgency of finding a resolution to the ongoing conflict.

Kyiv is hoping to secure further meetings with European leaders and with U.S. President Donald Trump following these initial discussions.

Zelenskyy recently held talks with Trump in Florida over the weekend, with both sides reporting progress regarding a potential U.S. plan to help bring an end to the war.
