Two underage girls were hospitalized after their electric scooter collided with a taxi in Bergen, Norway, on April 15, 2026. The incident, which occurred around 8 p.m., highlights the ongoing safety risks associated with the use of electric scooters, particularly when multiple riders share a single vehicle.
According to witness accounts provided to police, the girls were traveling at high speeds down Damsgårdslien. Just before reaching an intersection, they lost control of the scooter and struck the rear of a taxi that was traveling along Øvre Fyllingsvei.
Early reports from the scene indicated that one of the girls had been critically injured. But, police operations manager Morten Rebnord later clarified that neither girl remained in critical condition. Both victims were transported to Haukeland University Hospital for treatment.
Police reports indicate that both girls suffered bruising, with one sustaining a concussion and the other potentially suffering a broken foot. Medical officials noted that the outlook for the girls appears promising.
Although a formal case has been opened to investigate the collision, authorities confirmed that the taxi driver’s license was not seized.
