The world’s largest aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald R. Ford, is being deployed to the Middle East, according to multiple U.S. Media reports on February 13, 2026. The move comes as tensions remain high with Iran and as the U.S. Seeks to increase pressure during ongoing nuclear negotiations. This deployment underscores growing regional instability and the potential for further escalation.
The USS Gerald R. Ford will be joining the USS Abraham Lincoln and its accompanying fleet, which are already stationed in the region. Whereas the White House and the U.S. Department of Defense have not issued an official statement, analysts suggest the deployment aligns with the Washington’s efforts to intensify pressure on Tehran.
President Donald Trump stated that he expects to observe results from the negotiations with Iran “within the next month,” referring to March. He emphasized that “there must be a deal,” otherwise, “it’s going to be a very bad situation,” a scenario he stated he does not want to see unfold. Trump further asserted that “the situation will be very, very bad for Iran” if an agreement is not reached, characterizing the current talks as “phase one,” and warning that the subsequent phase “will be much more severe.”
