Três Lagoas Launches ‘Vacimóvel’ Mobile Clinic to Expand Immunization Access
In an effort to boost vaccination rates and remove barriers to healthcare, the city of Três Lagoas has deployed “Vacimóvel,” a mobile vaccination unit designed to bring essential immunizations directly to diverse neighborhoods. The initiative, coordinated by the Municipal Health Department (SMS) and provided by the Mato Grosso do Sul State Government, is operating from April 13 to April 17, 2026.

By relocating vaccination services from traditional health centers to high-traffic community areas, officials aim to increase coverage and simplify access for residents who may face transportation or scheduling challenges. This strategy of bringing healthcare to the population is a critical component in maintaining community immunity and preventing the resurgence of vaccine-preventable diseases.
The mobile unit is specifically engineered to maintain the integrity of the vaccines. It features a specialized conservation chamber that keeps immunizers at a strictly controlled temperature between 2°C and 8°C, ensuring maximum efficacy and safety. The vehicle is also equipped with climate control, a dedicated service counter, hygiene dispensers, and a sink to meet health and safety standards.
Residents can access all vaccines listed in the National Immunization Calendar, as well as current health campaigns. This includes the influenza vaccine, which is being administered to priority groups in accordance with Ministry of Health guidelines.
