Playing for Bihar against Maharashtra in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in Kolkata’s Eden Gardens, Suryavanshi smashed 108 runs off 61 balls, an innings punctuated by seven sixes and seven fours. Maharashtra posted a total of 176 for three wickets, led by Prithvi Shaw, but Suryavanshi’s heroics ultimately overshadowed their efforts.
With this century, Suryavanshi became the first teenager in the world to score three T20 centuries, cementing his place as a rising star in the sport. He has now played 17 T20 matches, with his first century coming in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Suryavanshi’s quickest century came against the UAE in the Rising Stars Asia Cup in 2025, reaching the milestone in just 32 balls. This was the third-fastest century ever recorded by an Indian batsman. He earned his first India A cap during the Rising Stars Asia Cup in Qatar.
In that innings, Suryavanshi challenged Chris Gayle’s record of 175, ultimately falling for 144 runs off 42 balls in the 13th over. The explosive knock included 15 sixes and 11 fours – a remarkable 26 boundaries in 42 deliveries, many soaring out of the stadium.
Remarkably, 134 of Suryavanshi’s 144 runs (93.05%) came from boundaries, a feat only achieved by three other players in T20 history.
