Västerås police are investigating a series of troubling incidents on Sjöhagsvägen that highlight the ongoing issue of impaired driving. In a span of just over an hour Tuesday afternoon, officers removed two separate drivers from the same vehicle on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. both individuals, both 35 years of age, had their licenses immediately suspended as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding these back-to-back arrests.
Västerås, Sweden – Police in Västerås have taken two drivers off the road within a span of less than two hours, both suspected of driving under the influence of drugs. The incidents, occurring on Sjöhagsvägen, underscore concerns about impaired driving in the region.
The first stop occurred at 1:00 PM local time on Tuesday, when officers pulled over a vehicle and suspected the 35-year-old male driver of drug-impaired driving and possession of a small amount of narcotics for personal use. His driver’s license was immediately confiscated, police said.
Less than an hour later, at 2:20 PM, the same vehicle was stopped again on Sjöhagsvägen. This time, a different 35-year-old man was behind the wheel and also faces suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. His driver’s license was also taken into police custody, according to reports.
Authorities have not released further details about the cases, including the specific substances believed to be involved. The incidents are under investigation.
