Venezuelan Government Declares “Absolute Absence” of Maduro Amid Reports of Judicial Purge

The Venezuelan government has officially decreed the absolute absence of Nicolás Maduro, according to reports from El Nacional and Emisora Costa del Sol 93.1 FM.

The declaration, highlighted by Trino Márquez, signals a critical shift in the nation’s leadership status. These developments suggest a period of intense instability and restructuring within the Venezuelan executive branch.

Concurrent with the decree, allegations of a strategic power struggle within the judiciary have surfaced. Omar González Moreno claims that Delcy Rodríguez is currently conducting a purge of the Supreme Tribunal of Justice (TSJ).

“Delcy Rodríguez is carrying out a purge in the TSJ to entrench herself and wash her own crimes.” Omar González Moreno

According to González Moreno, this judicial overhaul is designed to protect Rodríguez from legal repercussions while consolidating her own authority. The move underscores the high stakes of the internal realignment currently taking place within the government as of May 2, 2026.
