Stuttgart – The best goalkeeper in the 2. Bundesliga plays for VfB Stuttgart! Goalkeeper talent Dennis Seimen (20) is on loan from VfB to SC Paderborn, consistently delivering strong performances. He put in what was arguably his best showing yet on Sunday, racking up eight saves against VfL Bochum (0-0) to secure a point and earn clear Man of the Match honors. Paderborn coach Ralf Kattemann praised his goalkeeper, saying, “He saved our bacon today.” Seimen left the Bochum side frustrated with his performance.
Forward Philipp Hofmann (32) told reporters after the match, “I congratulated him on his performance after the final whistle.” Gerrit Holtmann (30) was still amazed by Seimen’s world-class performance after the game, stating, “I’ll remember that name. He saved everything. He’s going to play a big role in the Bundesliga one day.”
Stuttgart’s Sporting Director Excited About Seimen’s Return
That’s no bold prediction. Seimen is already earmarked as the future number one at VfB Stuttgart. The talented keeper is expected to replace Bayern Munich loanee Alexander Nübel (29) in goal next summer. His appearances in the second division demonstrate he’s already ready for that increased responsibility. Stuttgart’s sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth (46) lauded Seimen, saying, “Dennis is having an exceptional season and is living proof of the quality of our youth development. It’s not just his spectacular performance last weekend against Bochum, but the consistency with which Dennis delivers his performances in Paderborn’s goal. We look forward to his return and are confident he will continue his good development with us.”
Stuttgart’s current number one, Nübel, agrees. The goalkeeper recently said of Seimen, “He’s doing a phenomenal job. He got off to a good start in professional football in the third division and is continuing that in the second division. That’s remarkably strong.” The VfB faithful can already look forward to what is shaping up to be one of Germany’s biggest goalkeeping prospects.
