To accommodate increased demands from the Norrvatten wastewater treatment plant, the Viksjö electrical distribution station is slated for expansion following a decision by the municipal board on December 20th. The project, led by Eon,now enters a public consultation phase as planners aim to balance infrastructure needs with community concerns. Designs include noise barriers and aesthetic considerations, such as wooden cladding, to minimize impact on the surrounding natural surroundings and nearby residents.

Plans for an expansion of the Viksjö electrical distribution station have been approved by the municipal board, paving the way for public consultation. The upgrade, spearheaded by Eon, is necessary to meet the increased power demands of the Norrvatten wastewater treatment plant.

The decision, made by the board, initiates a public review period for the proposed project. The new station will be built in an open configuration but will incorporate noise barriers to minimize disturbance to nearby residents.

Developers intend to preserve the natural landscape surrounding the station, and the noise barriers will be clad in vertical wooden slats designed to blend with the adjacent forest. This approach aims to visually harmonize the infrastructure with its environment. The expansion underscores the growing need for infrastructure upgrades to support essential public services.
