The DJI Osmo Pocket 3, released in 2023, quickly gained traction among vloggers and content creators thanks to its high-quality video recording, integrated gimbal stabilization, and portable design. As anticipation builds for the Osmo Pocket 4, Vivo has confirmed it is developing a competing device.

Vivo told Chinese media that its camera will directly compete with the upcoming DJI Osmo Pocket 4. While details remain scarce, Vivo confirmed the camera will be compact and benefit from the company’s established camera technology. The project began in late 2023, and the company anticipates a launch before the end of this year.

Recent filings with the FCC revealed the Osmo Pocket 4 may offer approximately a 20% improvement in battery life compared to the Osmo Pocket 3. This suggests DJI is focused on addressing a key user concern with its next iteration.

Rumors initially pointed to a December global launch for the Osmo Pocket 4, but DJI’s plans appear to have evolved, potentially including a higher-end “Osmo Pocket 4 Pro” model. An image of the Osmo Pocket 4 Pro surfaced online, shared on X by Xdrones Studio, showing a slightly larger chassis than the rotating screen of the standard Pocket 4.

A listing for the standard Osmo Pocket 4 briefly appeared on Amazon Germany, suggesting an imminent release, though the listing was quickly removed. This indicates that at least one retailer was informed of the upcoming launch. However, current information suggests neither the Osmo Pocket 4 nor the Osmo Pocket 4 Pro will debut this month.
