INGLEWOOD, Calif. – Victor Wembanyama made an immediate impact at the 2026 NBA All-Star Game, setting a tone of intensity that revitalized the annual showcase. Despite a strong effort, Wembanyama’s “World” team fell short on Sunday, February 15th, at Crypto.com Arena.

The international squad, comprised of the league’s top international players, dropped both of its preliminary matchups, leaving the two American-based teams to battle for the championship.

Wembanyama wasted no time establishing his presence, winning the opening tip against Team Stars and immediately converting a powerful dunk. The play ignited the new All-Star Game format, which aimed to address years of criticism regarding a lack of competitive fire.

“It was much more enjoyable than last year. The basketball played was pretty great,” Wembanyama said, appearing in his second consecutive All-Star Game. “There was more intensity, and we were more focused tactically.”
