WhatsApp Plus: New Paid Features & Customization Options Revealed

WhatsApp is exploring a new subscription plan that would offer users enhanced customization and organizational features for their chats. The project, currently under development, is reportedly called WhatsApp Plus and would introduce premium features available only to paying subscribers.

The new service is expected to be available on devices running Android and iOS, with access requiring a monthly fee. This strategy aligns with a growing trend in the digital application industry, where platforms increasingly offer premium features for users seeking a more complex and flexible experience.

Information about the plan was first reported by WABetaInfo, a portal known for tracking beta versions of the app and uncovering features still in development. According to the published data, WhatsApp Plus will introduce several personalization tools, including the ability to modify the app’s theme, interface colors, and even the program icon.

Users could have access to approximately 14 different icon variations, each with unique styles and colors, allowing for greater customization of the app’s appearance. This move reflects a broader trend in app design, where personalization is becoming increasingly important to users.

The Plus version may also allow users to pin up to 20 conversations to the top of the screen, significantly exceeding the current limit of three visible chats. This feature would provide quick access to the most important discussions, whether with family, close friends, or professional contacts.

The subscription could also include additional options for calls made directly from the app. Subscribers would be able to select exclusive ringtones, different from the standard options, to personalize their notifications. These sounds would allow for quick recognition of incoming WhatsApp calls, distinguishing them from regular phone calls or notifications from other apps.

Currently, WhatsApp Plus is not available to the public and remains in development. The company has not announced pricing for the subscription, and reports suggest that additional exclusive features, such as special stickers or more interactive message reactions, may be added over time.

Even if the subscription plan launches, users who do not wish to pay will still be able to apply the app’s basic functions for free. Sending messages, audio and video calls, voice messages, sharing photos, and group chats will remain available in the standard version, as they are now.
