In a case that has drawn attention in Bursa, Turkey, a woman identified as Meltem Ç. Alleges that her husband, who is in the midst of divorce proceedings, used her gold jewelry to finance a wedding with another woman.
According to Meltem Ç., who has two children and has been married to İ.Ç. Since 2017, her husband initiated divorce proceedings in 2022 citing severe incompatibility. Although the couple began living separately, they were unable to finalize the divorce due to disagreements over alimony.
Meltem Ç. Claims that during this period, her husband, who remains her legally married spouse, entered into a religious marriage with B.K., a 27-year-old woman identified as his girlfriend. She further alleges that he used her gold wedding jewelry—including a bracelet and quarter gold coins—to cover the costs of a wedding held in November 2025.
Speaking to local media, Meltem Ç. Said she was shocked upon learning of the wedding, stating, “I used my gold to rent the hall, and they set up a home with someone else.” She added that the couple had been married for nine years before the separation.
Meltem Ç. Says she confronted both her husband and his girlfriend about the situation, after which she claims she began receiving death threats from the husband’s uncle, Ş.Ç., who allegedly warned her that his girlfriend’s family was dangerous and would harm her.
The allegations center on the misuse of personal assets during an ongoing divorce process, raising questions about financial conduct amid marital dissolution. Although the claims have been reported in Turkish media, no legal findings or court rulings regarding the use of the jewelry have been included in the available sources.
