WinterbazART, a curated winter exhibition showcasing the intersection of art, design, and creativity, will return to Itelier by It-architecten on December 12th and 13th, 2025. The event provides a platform for emerging and established artists, and highlights the growing importance of regional creative hubs.

Organizers note a significant local presence in this year’s event, with nearly half of the participating artists hailing from or having strong ties to Mechelen. “It is remarkable to see how much talent exists in Mechelen and the surrounding region,” they stated. Featured artists include Studio Vandensteen, a design studio founded by a former VOMO student, and Kim Van Boven, formerly of galerie MERGED, both presenting new work. Jeroen Van Craenenbroeck, Ria Lins, and Vera Stoefs, all alumni of the Institute for Art and Craft (IKA), will also exhibit their pieces, further cementing the event’s connection to the city.

Visitors can expect a carefully selected collection of refined art objects, contemporary design, and unique creations. “We don’t just want to showcase artistic quality, but also the thriving talent that is growing here. WinterbazART is a place where disciplines, stories, and ideas converge,” according to the organizers. This focus on interdisciplinary collaboration is increasingly common in the art and tech worlds, fostering innovation and new forms of expression.

The exhibition will feature work from Ronny Broeckx, Ann Grillet, Margot Thyssen, Françoise Beck, Marie Verdurmen, Matthieu Claus, Lisa Matthys, and numerous other artists. The event promises a minimalist and atmospheric setting designed to allow the artwork to take center stage.
