Woori Bank aims to rapidly close the gap with its competitors and launch a “second leap forward” this year, according to CEO Jinwan Jeong.

Jeong made the statement on January 23 during the bank’s annual management strategy meeting held in Paradise City, Incheon. He emphasized that 2026 will be a critical year for demonstrating results, building on the foundation laid in 2025.

The bank outlined its 2026 business objectives as “growth with customers and a leap towards the future,” focusing on four key strategic areas: customer expansion, profitability enhancement, future growth initiatives, and responsible management. Jeong underscored the importance of a strong customer base, stating, “Transactions arise from customers, and accumulated transactions generate profits.”

Woori Bank plans to enhance its specialized channels for corporate and wealth management clients this year, and will leverage artificial intelligence (AI) to improve operational efficiency and accuracy. The bank will also pilot “specialized consultation centers” based on a hub-and-spoke model, catering to the needs of salaried workers and small business owners. Furthermore, Woori Bank intends to offer new lifestyle convenience services through partnerships with companies like CU and Yanolja.
