World Girls’ Hockey Game This Weekend | LHF

Latvia recently hosted a game as part of the World Girls’ Game, a series of hockey matches between teams designated Team Blue and Team White, played in 38 countries.

The game series began in New Zealand and concluded in Canada. As of February 20, 2017, after 1,262 games, Team Blue leads the overall standings with a record of 135-128.

In other recent Latvian hockey news, the national team concluded its Olympic hockey tournament in Milan with a loss to Sweden on February 18, 2026. This followed a difficult loss to Denmark in their final group stage game on February 15, 2026.

Prior to those matches, Latvia secured a victory over Germany at the Milan Olympic hockey tournament on February 14, 2026.

Looking ahead, the Latvian Hockey Federation (LHF) has announced an educational seminar for club coaches on January 16, 2026. Aleksandrs Cicurskis is set to receive the IIHF “Johan Bollue Award” on December 4, 2025.

The LHF is too currently accepting media accreditation for the 2026 IIHF World Championship. You can find more information about all LHF games and leagues on their website, including the Women’s Hockey Development League, which features upcoming matches on March 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th.

On January 20, 2026, the Latvian U18 women’s hockey team played its second game of the World Championship.
