The University Hospital of Dijon Bourgogne (CHU Dijon Bourgogne) is hosting an awareness event on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, to coincide with World Obesity Day. Obesity is a growing public health concern, impacting millions worldwide and contributing to a range of health complications.
According to a statement released on March 2, 2026, the hospital’s Specialized Obesity Center (CSO) and the Food and Nutrition Liaison Committee (CLAN) are collaborating to raise awareness, provide information, and facilitate discussion around this critical health issue.
The event will feature informational stands located in two areas of the hospital: Hall A BC – Ground Floor (11 a.m. To 3 p.m.) and the Children’s Hospital Hall – Ground Floor (10 a.m. To 1 p.m.).
Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities, including mindful tasting workshops, a chance to try an obesity simulation suit, and an “obesity fresco” workshop. Representatives from the CSO, Reppop, and partner organizations will also be available for discussions and to answer questions.
The event is open to the public and aims to improve understanding of the complexities of obesity, dispel common misconceptions, and promote open dialogue about care pathways. More information on the CSO’s work can be found on the CSO Dijon website and CHU Dijon Bourgogne’s website. The CSO was established in 2011 in response to the increasing prevalence of obesity, which currently affects 15% of the population, and focuses on the care of severe and massive obesity cases (BMI ≥ 35 and ≥ 40, respectively).
