Hoffenheim continues to bolster its roster with emerging talent, announcing today the signing of 20-year-old forward Yannick Eduardo from Dutch second-division club Dordrecht. The transfer reunites Eduardo with the Bundesliga side after a accomplished loan period from parent club RB Leipzig. Eduardo joins fellow Czech countrymen Vladimír Coufal, Robin Hranáč, and Adam Hložek in Hoffenheim, signaling the club’s continued focus on international recruitment and player development.
Rising soccer star Yannick Eduardo, 20, has secured a transfer to German Bundesliga club Hoffenheim after a standout season with the Dutch second-division team Dordrecht.
The move brings the Czech youth international to a team that already features countrymen Vladimír Coufal, Robin Hranáč, and Adam Hložek. This transfer highlights the growing internationalization of professional sports and the scouting networks identifying talent across Europe.
Eduardo, who was on loan from RB Leipzig during his time with Dordrecht, scored 12 goals and provided five assists in 23 matches. His performance quickly drew attention from clubs in more competitive leagues.
“Yannick is a fast attacker with a good head for the game, who brings the necessary goal threat and fits very well into our playing philosophy,” said Hoffenheim’s Sporting Director Frank Kramer in a statement on the club’s website. “He proved this with his goals in the first half of this season. In our U23 team, he should regularly gain important playing experience and develop towards the Bundesliga level.”

Eduardo’s career has largely been developed through youth systems, primarily with RB Leipzig. He previously had loan spells with De Graafschap and Emmen before joining Dordrecht, where he demonstrated his full potential. He has also represented both the Czech Republic and the Netherlands at the youth international level, playing for the Dutch U17 and U18 teams before switching allegiance.
The forward is expected to join the Hoffenheim first team, though opportunities with the club’s U23 squad will be available if he doesn’t immediately see significant playing time. The integration of young players into professional teams is a common strategy for developing future talent and maintaining competitive depth.
