York Entrepreneurship Development Institute Opens Applications for 2026 Incubator Program
Applications are now open for the York Entrepreneurship Development Institute (YEDI) Incubator 2026, offering a free, intensive program designed to help Canadian entrepreneurs launch viable businesses.
The 16-week program, beginning January 28, 2026, provides participants with academic lectures, workshop-based training, and mentorship from industry leaders. Successful completion of the YEDI Incubator results in a formal certification and a comprehensive business plan, including an executive summary and market-ready business model. Graduates are also eligible to apply for seed and venture capital funding through YEDI’s Venture Capital fund, a crucial step for many early-stage startups.
The program focuses on key areas of business development, including entrepreneurship, marketing, finance, and communication skills, culminating in a Venture Fair where entrepreneurs can pitch their ideas to potential investors. YEDI emphasizes peer support through regular cluster meetings and requires bi-weekly milestone deliverables to guide progress. Eligibility is open to Canadian citizens and permanent residents who are founders or co-founders with a unique, innovative idea in any stage of development; more information on YEDI Incubator is available on their website.
YEDI accepts 15 entrepreneurs per cohort, selected by an Expert Committee based on established criteria. This program is particularly important as Canada continues to foster innovation and support its growing startup ecosystem, according to Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada.
The application deadline is approaching, and YEDI encourages interested entrepreneurs to apply soon.
