She recently shone on television screens, co-hosting the main news broadcast of Television Markíza with her fellow moderator Viktor Vincze. Popular Zuzana Čimová, still, received a notice alongside him, and left the television station. She has now fully dedicated herself to education, but she hasn’t left the media world for long. She’s announcing a new job…

Media uproar didn’t undermine her conviction
She left her home for several years, Television Markíza, of her own volition, but the events that shook not only her position but also that of Viktor Vincze preceded it. As chairman of the trade union organization, he openly supported independent journalism and criticized interference in editorial freedom following the departure of Michal Kovačič. Even an offer to remain with the television station as a member of the online news editorial team failed to convince him. And he wasn’t the only one:
She voiced a similar sentiment. After events that shook her position and that of Viktor Vincze, she decided to leave Television Markíza voluntarily. He, as chairman of the trade union organization, openly supported independent journalism and criticized interference in editorial freedom following the departure of Michal Kovačič. He wasn’t persuaded even by an offer to remain with the television station as a member of the online news editorial team. Her employment contract ended in August 2025. Before leaving, she wrote, “There is no reason to fear the end. The end is just a natural part of the journey.” She said she was leaving a different television than the one she joined.
Her colleague and co-host Viktor Vincze praised her support and unwavering resolve. “One of the few television faces who never hesitated, never sought shaky compromises or excuses where none could be found. You are an inspiring person and it was an honor to be your colleague,” he wrote.

After a challenging period, she focused on rest and self-realization in a completely different field. During an appearance on the Fun Radio show, she revealed her plans. “I’m going to school now, I’m in my third year of psychology, so I’ll be writing my bachelor’s thesis,” she said. She was once drawn to forensic psychology, but an experience in a hospital, surrounded by people with addictions, changed her mind.
“After this experience, I realized that this isn’t quite my path, so I’m more inclined to be a counseling psychologist,” she revealed. She also stated that she doesn’t regret her decision to leave a lucrative position at the television station. “I’d rather be at the labor office,” she responded without hesitation. This sentiment reflects a broader trend of professionals prioritizing values alignment over financial gain.

In addition to her studies, she also focused on reporting function, which wasn’t highly visible to the public. She became the face of the Strong Parents project thanks to her powerful interviews with people with difficult life stories. She also shared new hobbies in her private life. She recently ran her first marathon. And that’s not the only thing she’s been celebrating.
Where has she ended up this time?
It seemed that Zuzana Čimová would avoid the media environment after her recent negative experience, but ultimately her love for journalism prevailed. She decided to return to the microphone, but this time we won’t see her, but hear her.
