Recent leadership changes at polot Media, a key production company for Telewizja Polsat, signal a significant shift within one of Poland’s largest media groups.Zygmunt Solorz, a long-time power broker in Polish media, has been removed from Polot Media’s supervisory board, continuing a trend that saw him ousted from a similar role at grupa interia.pl last week. These moves, formalized in mid-December,occur amid a reported family dispute over the control of Solorz’s vast media holdings and follow a year of declining financial performance for Polot Media.
Telewizja Polsat, the majority shareholder of Polot Media, a production company specializing in content for the broadcaster, has removed Zygmunt Solorz from the supervisory board. The decision, announced December 2024, reflects a broader restructuring within the Cyfrowy Polsat group.
Janusz Pliszk, a long-time associate of the Cyfrowy Polsat capital group, has been appointed to the Polot Media supervisory board, replacing Solorz. The changes were formalized in documents signed by Telewizja Polsat’s President Piotr Żak, board member Adam Nowe, and proxy Norbert Walkiewicz, and registered with the National Court Register in mid-December, according to reports.
This move follows a similar decision last week, where Solorz was also removed from the supervisory board of Grupa Interia.pl, signaling a continued reduction of his presence within the group’s governance structures.

A spokesperson for Telewizja Polsat confirmed that Solorz now remains on only one supervisory board within the Cyfrowy Polsat group – the advertising bureau Polsat Media. His wife has also been removed from all supervisory boards across the group’s companies. The changes come as Polot Media and its parent company navigate a competitive media landscape.
The Polot Media supervisory board was initially established in early 2021 following Telewizja Polsat’s acquisition of a majority stake. Stanisław Janowski, along with minority shareholders Okil Khamidov and Tamara Aagten-Margol, remain on the board.
Polot Media has been a key producer of series for the Cyfrowy Polsat group for years, with recent productions including titles such as “Powrót do życia,” “Zdrady,” “Grzechy sÄ…siadów,” and “Swatów.” Many of these productions initially debut on the Polsat Box Go platform before airing on Telewizja Polsat’s channels.
The company experienced a decline in financial performance in 2024, with revenues falling by over 30 percent and net profit decreasing from 23.21 million złoty to 20.81 million złoty. This downturn may have contributed to the recent leadership adjustments.
These personnel changes are linked to an ongoing dispute between Zygmunt Solorz and his children, which began in the second half of 2024. The conflict centers on succession planning and control over the TiVi and Solkomtel foundations in Liechtenstein, which indirectly control key assets of the billionaire.
