A Hong Kong DJ has revealed his battle with stage four prostate cancer, sharing details of his diagnosis and treatment journey. Tai Shan, 49, discovered he had the advanced cancer after seeking medical attention for difficulty urinating earlier this year.

The radio personality, also known as Tsang Kwong-man, publicly disclosed his condition in a YouTube video released on July 22, 2025. He explained that the cancer had already spread to his pelvis, skull, chest, shoulders, and sacrum. This type of cancer progression highlights the importance of early detection and intervention in prostate cancer cases.

“The cancer cells have entered the bones, spread throughout many places, including the pelvis, skull, chest, shoulders and sacrum,” Tai Shan stated in the video. He immediately began treatment, including hormone therapy and targeted medication.

From February 2025, Tai Shan underwent chemotherapy, completing six cycles by the complete of May. He then received ten sessions of radiotherapy in June. He has since transitioned to treatment at a tumor specialist Traditional Chinese Medicine clinic in July.

Initially, the prognosis was uncertain, but Tai Shan reports that approximately 90% of the cancer cells have responded to treatment, with his prostate-specific antigen (PSA) level dropping from 57 at diagnosis to its current level. This positive response underscores the potential for effective treatment even in advanced stages of the disease.

The news of Tai Shan’s diagnosis has prompted an outpouring of support from colleagues and fans. Fellow radio DJs Lin Hoi Fung, Lo Mei Suet, and Yuen Chi Kin sent messages of encouragement, as did others in the entertainment industry.
