The fallout from Yamila Reyna and Américo’s split continues to unfold, with new details emerging about alleged issues during their relationship. Following a controversial performance by the singer at a festival headlined by the Argentine actress in the Maule Region, reports are surfacing that suggest a pattern of problematic behavior, and excess.

Comedian Willy Sabor recently shared a story on Hay que decirlo! (Canal 13) recalling a difficult experience with the singer.

Sabor recounted past interactions that allegedly demonstrated Américo’s aloof demeanor during professional engagements.
“Yo tengo una historia, incluso si se ven los archivos, de una pelea con Américo (…) No sé si era Américo o el mánager, pero yo la pasé mal”, he said, explaining that he once had trouble booking Américo for an event.
“A woman from La Recova, in La Serena, asked me to bring in Américo. I had a friendship with him, because I’ve known him since he was singing at the market with his father. Lo conozco desde muy chiquitito, un tremendo artista, lo vi crecer con La Nueva Alegría,” he explained. This anecdote highlights the singer’s long career in the Chilean music scene.
However, the former MCC host detailed the discomfort caused by the singer’s resistance to traditional festival gestures when he was working as an event host.
“But he had this thing about, for example, not wanting anyone on stage with him. Some artists don’t like being introduced. The host says: ‘No, no introduce him’, and there are several like that,” Sabor explained.
“And it happened to me, that he doesn’t like being introduced, he doesn’t like receiving awards, he doesn’t want the mayor to come on stage”, he added.
Sabor also claimed that working with Américo came with a hefty price tag, due to the singer’s high standards.
“The catering requests are insane. For example, Américo doesn’t like snack platters. Hay muchas veces que suspenden o no van o dicen ‘no voy a actuar’. Then the producers have a headache,” Sabor affirmed.
