The injury occurred during the quarterfinal matchup against Czechia.

Sidney Crosby collided with Czech defenseman Radko Gudas and did not return to the game.

He’s expected to remain sidelined for at least four weeks, according to team reports. Crosby will miss significant time with the Pittsburgh Penguins as a result.

Crosby watched from the bench as Canada fell to the United States 1–2 in the Olympic final.

“It’s just disappointment, for a lot of reasons. It’s never fun to lose. I feel for the whole group and the whole situation,” Crosby said after the final.

Crosby leads the Penguins in scoring this season with 59 points (27 goals and 32 assists) in 56 games.
