Motorola Razr Fold Camera Review: Falls Short of Flagships

The Motorola Razr Fold’s camera performance lags behind modern flagship smartphones like the iPhone 17 Pro, Find X9 Pro, and the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, scoring 164 points in comparative testing. The Honor Magic V5 and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 also scored lower on the list, with the Z Fold7 currently priced at $1,809 on Amazon.

This scoring is partially influenced by the Razr Fold’s telephoto and ultra-wide cameras, which generally underperform compared to primary cameras found in other foldable devices. The rise of foldable phones represents a significant shift in smartphone design, pushing manufacturers to innovate in both hardware and software.

Despite these limitations, the Razr Fold delivers good exposure, dynamic range, and detail across all its cameras. However, DxOMark reports that the Motorola foldable occasionally exhibits image noise and color fringing, even in daylight conditions. The device also struggles with autofocus and white balance adjustments during video recording.
