Apple has officially launched the iPhone 17e, a new addition to the iPhone 17 series, positioning it as a more affordable option without compromising on performance. The device was unveiled on Tuesday, March 2, 2026, in the United States, according to reports.

The iPhone 17e features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display with a new anti-reflective coating designed to improve visibility in sunlight. Apple states the front screen is protected by Ceramic Shield 2, which offers increased scratch and impact resistance compared to previous models. This focus on durability reflects a broader trend in smartphone design, prioritizing longevity and user experience.

Powering the iPhone 17e is the next-generation Apple A19 chip. The company claims this chip delivers fast performance for everyday tasks, video streaming, and demanding mobile games. A C1X modem is also included, providing faster and more efficient connectivity than its predecessor.

The device boasts a 48MP Fusion camera system, promising high-quality photos with sharp detail, alongside support for a new generation of portrait features and high-quality video recording. MagSafe compatibility is also included, enabling faster 15W wireless charging and pairing with Apple’s magnetic accessories. USB-C charging is also supported.

The iPhone 17e will be available with storage options starting at 256GB and in black, white, and soft pink color options. The starting price is set at approximately $599, which translates to around Rp 10,099,739 based on a current exchange rate of Rp 16,861 per dollar, according to recent reports.

The iPhone 17e is part of a broader iPhone 17 lineup that also includes the 17, 17 Air, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max, all of which have received official TKDN certification in Indonesia, according to sources. The iPhone 17 features a 6.3-inch screen and is available in lavender, sage, blue mist, white, and black.

Apple highlighted the iPhone 17’s Ceramic Shield front cover, brighter display with ProMotion technology up to 120Hz, and a new Center Stage front-facing camera.
