Referee Explains Sensational Decision

“This year’s tournament on the Black Continent, held in Morocco, clearly showed what happens when there’s an excess of politics or simply incompetence in referee management,” reads a statement from referee RafaÅ‚ Rostkowski.

The official added that the selection process for referees also failed, leading to decisions that were challenging to understand and explain.

“For many observers, the refereeing was simply unbelievable,” the referee added.

“The Senegalese team’s conduct was harmful, dangerous for football and absolutely unacceptable. It was a bad example of how not to act in the event of a wrong or controversial refereeing decision,” the official wrote.
