A Colombian international is heading to Ecuador, while Atlético Bucaramanga has lost a key player. Aldair Quintana has officially joined Independiente del Valle, confirming weeks of speculation.
“Wherever he’s been, he’s been loved. Today, we welcome him as what he is: a king of the goal. KINGtana is now home. And in this goal, a modern story begins. Welcome Aldair to A Different Club,” the Ecuadorian side announced on social media alongside a video of two young fans welcoming the Colombian goalkeeper.
The 31-year-old moves to a club competing in international tournaments, something he won’t have this season with Bucaramanga after losing to América de Cali in the Copa Sudamericana qualifying phase.
Independiente del Valle is in Pot 1 for the Copa Libertadores group stage draw, which will take place this Thursday, March 19, meaning they could face any of the four Colombian clubs – Independiente Santa Fe, Junior, Deportes Tolima, and Independiente Medellín – depending on the draw.
