A truck carrying beer overturned on Portugal’s A1 highway on Tuesday after a tire blowout caused the driver to lose control, according to local reports.
The accident occurred around 3:28 p.m. Near kilometer 116, between Leiria and Fátima, in the northbound lane. The vehicle ended up overturned in the central median, spilling its cargo of beer across the roadway.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, where the driver was treated for injuries by INEM medical teams. Traffic was disrupted in both directions, with vehicles diverted to the shoulder and right lanes while cleanup and recovery operations continued.
