Indonesian National Team star Pratama Arhan has officially graduated from Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus), marking a milestone that is as much about technological innovation as it is about academic achievement. During the university’s 87th graduation ceremony on April 29, 2026, Arhan became one of the first graduates in Indonesia to receive a diploma powered by blockchain technology.
The ceremony, held at the Hotel Patra Convention in Semarang, saw Arhan and 401 other students earn their degrees. The introduction of blockchain-based diplomas represents a significant shift in academic verification; the technology ensures the absolute authenticity and transparency of digital documents, making them verifiable on a global scale and effectively eliminating the possibility of forgery.
For Arhan, the achievement is the culmination of a challenging journey that began in 2020. The athlete, who earned a Bachelor of Management (S.M.), spoke candidly about the difficulties of balancing a high-profile professional football career with the rigors of higher education.
“I am extremely happy to graduate and receive a blockchain diploma; it is a point of pride for me,” Arhan said following the event. He noted that dividing his time between his club abroad and the national team was often demanding, but credited Udinus for providing the necessary flexibility through online learning options and scholarships.
This balance between professional athletics and academia highlights a growing trend of universities adapting their delivery models to support students with non-traditional schedules. Arhan noted that the support from both the university and his team was instrumental in his success.
While the footballer has already set his sights on further education, he is not rushing back to the classroom. Arhan expressed his intention to pursue a Master’s degree in Communication Science at Udinus via a scholarship, though he plans to delay enrollment to focus on his current competitive commitments with his club abroad.
Arhan was among 402 graduates recognized during the first session of the ceremony, which took place in the Ballroom Rama Shinta of the Patra Hotel. The move toward blockchain credentials underscores a broader effort within the Indonesian education system to modernize document security and provide graduates with portable, tamper-proof academic records.
