West Fargo Restructures Communications Department, Announces New Director

West Fargo city officials announced a reorganization of the communications department today, October 7, 2025, naming Rachel Richter Lordemann as the new Director of Communications and transitioning Addie Stewart to a full-time role with the Police Department.

Richter Lordemann, previously the City’s Public Affairs Manager, has been with the communications department since 2021 and holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of North Dakota. Prior to joining West Fargo, she served as president of the Williston Area Chamber of Commerce. This change aims to streamline messaging and improve coordination between city departments and the public.

Addie Stewart, formerly the Public Information Manager, will now dedicate her expertise to the West Fargo Police Department as a civilian employee. Stewart joined the city in 2020 and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Strategic Communication from North Dakota State University. Both Richter Lordemann and Stewart are certified Public Information Officers through the North Dakota Department of Emergency Services and FEMA, demonstrating a commitment to effective crisis communication – a vital skill for local government.
