‘Jurassic World: Chaos Theory’ Still Canon to Franchise, Season 4 to Tie Into ‘Dominion’

The animated series Jurassic World: Chaos Theory remains officially part of the established Jurassic World film canon, with its upcoming fourth and final season set to connect directly to events from 2022’s Jurassic World Dominion.

Speaking at New York Comic Con 2025, co-creator Scott Kreamer addressed fan concerns regarding the series’ continuity following the release of Jurassic World Rebirth. Kreamer confirmed that both Chaos Theory and its predecessor, Camp Cretaceous, are “absolutely” still considered canon. “Our series runs kind of parallel, especially season 4, along with Dominion,” he explained to Screen Rant. “So, Rebirth is still off in the future from Chaos Theory. We’re still going to be revisiting a lot of things from different points of view that you see in Dominion.” This confirmation is significant as it maintains a cohesive narrative across different media within the franchise.

Season 4 of Chaos Theory, consisting of nine 22-minute episodes, follows the “Nublar Six” as they navigate a world overrun with dinosaurs and face a global conspiracy. The returning voice cast includes Paul-Mikél Williams, Sean Giambrone, Darren Barnet, Raini Rodriguez, Kausar Mohammed, and Kiersten Kelly. The series has previously established connections to the film franchise, with the first season of Camp Cretaceous unfolding before, during, and after Jurassic World (2015), and the inclusion of Dichen Lachman’s Soyona Santos, who originated in Jurassic World Dominion. Jurassic World Rebirth, released earlier this year and starring Scarlett Johansson, marked a new era for the franchise, achieving an $858 million box office despite being a largely standalone entry. Universal is reportedly developing a sequel featuring Johansson’s character. The final season of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory will arrive on Netflix on November 20.
