Charlie Woods Named to American Junior Golf Association All-America First Team
Braselton, Ga. — Charlie Woods, son of golf legend Tiger Woods, has been named to the American Junior Golf Association’s All-America First Team, an honor his father also received early in his career.
The announcement, made today, recognizes Woods, a junior at The Benjamin School in South Florida, as one of the top 12 junior golfers in the nation. He secured his first significant victory at the Team TaylorMade Invitational in May. This recognition highlights the growing talent in the next generation of golf and continues the Woods family legacy in the sport.
Miles Russell, a 17-year-old Walker Cup alternate, was named the AJGA’s Player of the Year for the second consecutive year. The second team included Mason Howell, the U.S. Amateur champion, and Cameron Kuchar, son of Matt Kuchar, who is committed to attending TCU. Aphrodite Deng of Canada, living in New Jersey, earned Player of the Year honors in the girls’ division after winning the U.S. Girls Junior and two major AJGA events.
