Joy Behar Out Sick From ‘The View’ Following Foot Injury
“The View” host Joy Behar has missed two consecutive episodes of the daytime talk show due to a foot injury, her co-host Whoopi Goldberg revealed today.
Goldberg addressed Behar’s absence during Wednesday’s broadcast, stating, “Joy is out because she hurt her foot, and hopefully she’ll be back here tomorrow.” Behar was also absent from Tuesday’s show, with Goldberg briefly mentioning yesterday that the comedian was “out” and expected to return today. Behar typically does not appear on Mondays.
The 83-year-old comedian recently celebrated her birthday on the show last month, famously joking about selling her collection of clip-on earrings because “my holes are dried up.” Behar has been a consistent presence on “The View” since its debut in 1997, with a brief hiatus from 2013 to 2015, and has become known for her outspoken political commentary – a role that has sometimes led to behind-the-scenes tension, as she previously revealed she was fired twice by the show’s creator, Barbara Walters.
A representative for Behar has not yet responded to requests for comment regarding the extent of her injury or expected return. The show’s producers have not indicated whether a replacement host will fill Behar’s seat in her absence, but the panel continued with Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin alongside Goldberg.
Officials have stated they will provide updates on Behar’s condition as they become available.
